How can English subject leaders stay informed, confident and ahead of national developments throughout the year?

This course equips English subject leaders with up-to-date guidance, practical leadership insights and current national developments to support effective decision-making and drive continued improvement in English across the school.

Course aims:

  • Keep up to date with national developments in English education, including curriculum, assessment and pedagogy

  • Explore current Ofsted priorities and their implications for English leadership

  • Reflect on developments in reading, writing and oracy to support whole-school improvement

  • Consider effective approaches to monitoring, evaluation and action planning in English

  • Explore examples of effective practice and current research in primary English

  • Support subject leaders in identifying priorities and next steps across the academic year
