Develop understanding of the role of sentence construction within writing development and composition
Explore evidence-informed approaches to teaching sentences, including modelling, oral rehearsal, sentence combining and guided practice
Consider how vocabulary, reading and spoken language support sentence development and writing fluency
Explore approaches to planning and assessing writing that support cohesion, independence and purposeful composition
Strengthen subject leader confidence in monitoring progression and improving sentence-level teaching across the school
