Delegates will be supported in developing their practice through three interactive and informative sessions. They will gain a deeper understanding of effective pedagogies and their application in the primary classroom. The sessions will cover:

Reading

  • Effective pedagogies for teaching reading

  • Building a repertoire of skills and strategies for

  • reading comprehension

  • Structuring a reading lesson

  • Creating a love of reading in the classroom

Writing

  • Effective pedagogies for teaching writing

  • Embedding vocabulary, grammar and spelling

  • Exploring the tools of a writer

  • Sentence accuracy

Grammar

  • Developing understanding of grammar terminology

  • Contextualised grammar and how it is used for effect writing

  • Teaching approaches and strategies
