Let’s take a look at what has been nominated!

Company of the Year

This nomination celebrates Literacy Counts as the leading provider of complete literacy solutions for primary schools. We are proud to deliver a full suite of research-backed resources and consultancy services that cover every aspect of reading, writing, spelling and phonics.

From Ready Steady Phonics and Ready Steady Write to Ready Steady Spell and Ready Steady Read Together, our resources help schools implement consistent, research-backed practice that raises outcomes for every learner. Supported by expert CPD and bespoke consultancy, we continue to evolve with national guidance, giving schools complete confidence that they are working with the best in literacy education.

Transformational Impact: Everybody Write Two-Year Project

The Everybody Write two-year sustainability project was designed to raise writing standards and enjoyment across groups of schools. National data highlights a widening gap between reading and writing, particularly for vulnerable groups such as EAL, SEND and looked-after children. This whole-school improvement project places writing at the heart of the leadership team in participating schools. It delivers a coherent, research-backed approach that upskills teachers, strengthens leadership and improves outcomes for all. Everybody Write has already helped schools build leadership capacity and sustainable practices that transform writing and its culture within schools and MATs.

Primary Digital Learning Product: Ready Steady Read Together

Ready Steady Read Together is a new shared reading resource for Years 2 to 6 that helps teachers inspire a lifelong love of literature. It provides a clear structure for whole-class reading lessons that are dynamic, inclusive and focused on explicit teaching of comprehension strategies.

Using diverse, high-quality texts, this fully digital programme brings reading to life in the classroom while improving comprehension, fluency and vocabulary. Teachers are supported with everything they need to deliver engaging lessons that raise attainment and foster a genuine love of reading.

Early Years Product or Service: Ready Steady Write

Ready Steady Write for EYFS puts story retelling at the heart of writing and gives children the strongest possible start through high-quality picture books. Its consistent three-week structure, Jump In, Look, Say & Plan, Say & Write, builds children’s confidence from oral rehearsal to independent writing.

The enhanced EYFS units introduced in 2025 include digital tools such as the Sentence Snake, Interactive Writer’s Knowledge and Story Friends characters. These features make early literacy interactive, fun and accessible, strengthening both foundational knowledge and executive function.
