Getting ready for Y3 Unit F: The Secret Elephant

*The approaches and key messages in these course apply to any chosen Unit F titles.

Are you a Ready Steady Write school that is committed to supporting staff wellbeing and workload?  Are you keen to understand the best practice approaches to delivering the units of work, in order to secure foundational knowledge and executive function?

Are you a school that wants to find out more about a Ready Steady Write unit and how it is delivered in practice?

This short course will ensure that all staff are fully prepared to deliver their summer term unit for maximum pupil impact.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Have a clear understanding of how to use and adapt units of work confidently in the classroom for vulnerable groups

  • Be clear on ways to make the most of sentence accuracy, to honour the writing framework and support a diverse range of learners

  • Identify where and how foundational knowledge is explicitly taught, revisited, and secured

  • Understand how executive function is supported across the unit, including planning, organising ideas, sustaining focus, and self-monitoring

  • Recognise how reading, discussion, and knowledge-building feed directly into writing tasks

  • Explore how the unit scaffolds pupils from shared understanding to increasingly independent writing

Audience: ESL and Practitioners.

Prices:
£40 for Ready Steady Write members (Please note the booking form will say £60 but you will only be invoiced £40)
£60 for Ready Steady Write non-members
