We have made a series of exciting improvements to Writing Outcome 1 in the final Year 1 unit, The Last Wolf, based on valuable feedback from our school community.

These updates are designed to make teaching even more effective and user friendly:

A more intuitive layout and clearer navigation to save time and support lesson delivery
Embedded guidance for teaching foundational skills including executive function, transcription and fluency
Stronger alignment with current Ofsted priorities, focusing on early literacy development across Year 1

These enhancements retain everything you love about Ready Steady Write – just made even better. Both the original and updated versions of The Last Wolf are available, offering full flexibility for your summer term planning.

We are pleased to share that these enhancements will be gradually added to the remaining Year 1 units, ready in time for teaching each term.
